Dean's Seminar on Chronic Disease - Infection and Cancer

Guest Lecturers: Martin J. Blaser, MD, Muriel G. and George W. Singer Professor of Translational Medicine and Director of the Human Microbiome Program at NYU Langone Medical Center and W. Ian Lipkin, MD, Director of the Center for Infection and Immunity John Snow Professor of Epidemiology at Mailman School of Public Health

This seminar series focus on one of the greatest public health challenges of our day: the global epidemic of chronic diseases. These conditions include diabetes, cancer, heart disease, hypertension, and the pandemic of obesity. The goal is to foster discussion and innovation across the Mailman community on key questions such as the role of prevention and health preservation, how to reduce disparities, determining which policies and interventions will be most impactful and at what points in the life-course, and how to set goals and measure progress.
