Corruption: Key Challenges for Local, National and International Institutions

Speaker: Huguette Labelle is Chair of the Board of Transparency International, the worlds premier non-governmental anticorruption organization. She is also a crucial stakeholder in other organizations, including the Board of the UN Global Compact and the Group of External Advisors on the World Bank Governance and Anti-corruption Strategy. Labelle holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, and, over the course of eight years, served as Chancellor of the University of Ottawa.

She is a Companion of the Order of Canada. She has also been awarded honorary degrees from twelve Canadian Universities, and has received the Vanier medal of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, the Outstanding Achievement Award of the public service of Canada, the McGill Management Achievement Award, and lordre de la Pleiade. She has served for a period of nineteen years as Deputy Minister of different Canadian Government departments including Secretary of State, Transport Canada, the Public Service Commission and the Canadian International Development Agency.
