CCNMTL rewirED Series @ CUMC: Lectures that Stick: Cognition Theories for Better Presentations

Tuesday, May 6, 2014 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Columbia University Medical Center Campus Hammer Health Sciences Building LL204
This seminar, offered by Michael Cennamo and Adrienne Garber, educational technologists at the Columbia Center for New Media, Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL), is ideal for faculty and instructors who are interested in discovering new ways of using established presentation tools like PowerPoint and more innovative approaches like Prezi, Projeqt, and Voicethread to deliver digital content in the classroom. We will examine how effective digital presentations can be created using a combination of cognitive principles, design methods, and Web 2.0 technologies. Best practices and challenges will be addressed via exemplars and expert Q&A.
