CCNMTL rewirED Series @ CUMC: Lab Session - Video Production: Lecture Capture and the Flipped Classroom

Thursday, May 15, 2014 - 12:00pm - 1:30pm
Columbia University Medical Campus Hammer Health Sciences Building Room 202A

This workshop will be your guide to web-based and downloadable software options for creating a talking head video lecture including animated slides, screen captures, and images. This session is a lab follow-up to "The Transformative Potential of the Flipped Classroom" held on May 13th.

Led by CCNMTL video technical specialist Therese Condit, Ed.M., we will consider the advantages and disadvantages of each format as well as the essentials of production set-up in the home or office environment. You will acquire hands-on practice with basic video editing tools such as iMovie and learn how to share and distribute video with sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. Please come with your video challenges and ready to explore!

Note: Participants are encouraged, but not required, to bring the laptop they will use for video productions. Attendance at the rewirED session "The Transformative Potential of the Flipped Classroom" is not a pre-requisite to attend this lab.
