Brazilian Center Brown Bag: Recent Patterns of Alcohol and Illegal Drug Use in Brazilian Youth & Adults by Professor Silvia Martins, MD, PhD

The presentation will cover findings on recent patterns of alcohol and illegal drug use obtained in studies conducted with middle and high-school students in the 27 Brazilian capitals, patterns of alcohol and drug use among Brazil college students as well as patterns of alcohol and drug use in the general adult population in the city of So Paulo, Brazil. The presentation will also have an in-depth discussion on the relationship between binge-drinking and socio-economic status among Brazilian youth in Brazil's 5 geo-economic regions.

Data will be presented on drug use transitions among Brazilian university students and report on the patterns of DSM-5 alcohol and tobacco use disorders among adult alcohol and tobacco users in So Paulo, Brazil.
